Sadhev's "Aloe Vera and Saffron Gel with Kumkumadi Thailam" - A review

What is it? Aloe Vera gel infused with saffron and Kumkumadi Thailam. It's vegan, cruelty-free, and free from any other additives.

I would suggest you take out a minute to read about what the product claims to do here:

How much does it cost? 1,775 rupees for 100 grams.

What do I think about this aloe vera gel?

  1. It has a captivating scent - not a sweet scent but one that smells like “I am a legitimate, pure, Ayurvedic product”. I have not used their Kumkumadi Thailam but I strongly suspect the scent is because of the presence of it. It is not an overpowering scent and it doesn’t linger for long.

  2. You can actually see the saffron strands on the gel!! - In Sadhev’s words “exotic red saffron that is carefully extracted within 24 hours of harvest from the valleys of Kashmir”. Why on earth would I not want that in my skincare routine!?

  3. This pale yellow colored gel has a soft, lightweight consistency and sinks into the skin quickly. I usually take a generous amount of it and apply it all over my face and neck. Over time, I can safely say that it imparted a certain glow to my face - in Sadhev’s words “... giving a natural radiance to the skin”

  4. It works as a great spot treatment for acne. I applied a thick layer of this gel over puss-filled acne. It dried up overnight and did not leave any acne scars.

It will be inadequate on its own during winter. The level of hydration it provides is ideal for me during the summer months, but during winter, one has to top it with a facial oil for that extra layer of hydration. I wish they somehow made it an intensely hydrating one.

You must give this a shot. Not hydrating enough for winters BUT ideal for summer months. It will take some time, but it will impart that “everlasting morning glow”.
